Restoration:
Our main activity over the years has been the restoration of prestige Classic Cars. We have developed a distinct process and the associated facilities to carry out these projects, all in house, to the highest possible standards. Following detailed assessment:
Total strip down -> Shot blasting of body shell, chassis & all parts & components -> Etch prime all necessary parts & components -> Shot / Vapour blast all necessary components -> Fabrication/repair of body parts -> Mechanical strip down, repair, rebuild -> Painting of body shell & components -> Re-assembly of project -> Hand over to customer
This process can be seen unfolding in the galleries below.
Jaguar XK120 Body Restoration.
This car initially came to us for a repaint, however once the old paint came off it became apparent that significant additional repairs would be required. We are carrying out extensive panel repair and welding. Fabrication of new door posts, front wing sections and sections of the front panels.
Leading will need repair prior to filling, flattening and priming prior to painting.
Final flattening and painting has now been carried out. Re-fitting is now finished and as far as we're concerned the work is complete. The car is now ready for re-upholstering.

1961 Bedford CA Van - Finished
This charming old Bedford CA is owned by a local businessman with a passion for light commercial vehicles from the fifties and sixties. We took on this project with a view to the complete resotoration of the vehicle. There was significant rot in many of the lower panels as the pictures show. Following removing the body the chassis and engine were given a complete overhaul in our mechanical shop. The body required fabrication of many of the lower panels, doors, door runners and floor pan.
The Bedford has now been painted and rebuilt and is now finished.
1968 Jaguar E Type Jaguar - US Import
This splendid car came in to us via its carburetors. We were asked to Vapour Blast them as part of some work being carried out by the owner. Then one thing led to another. When the owner became aware of our full range of capabilities and facilities it was decided to repaint the car to correct some very poor quality repairs previously carried to the front end, bonnet and sides.
While shotblasting the bonnet we removed over 40 lbs of body filler! We have the carried out work to convert from auto to manual gearbox and a range of other work. See the pics in the gallery.

1965 Sunbeam Venezia
A very rare car. One of a limited edition of approximately 130 cars built, only 6 in right hand drive, we believe this might be the only right hand drive surviving. Bodied by Touring of Milan, this particular car was particularly distinguished due to being owned by the Hon. Brian Rootes, Chairman of the Rootes group.
The current owner has instructed us to carry out a full restoration of this car. As the pictures indicate, the car has suffered from a good deal of degradation. Shot blasting the bodyshell has fully revealed the extent of the rot and allows for repairs to begin on clean metal.

1973 Triumph TR6 - Show / Concours Project
This TR6 is a a rare beast - it has never been welded!!! All panels are original British Leyland making this a genuine UK spec car. Only 4 owners from new and an honest 63490 miles. Kept in dry storage since 1984 this pristine car was in such good condition both mechanically and in the body it was felt it deserved special attention.
It was decided to completely strip the car of all paint and coatings in our shot blasting facility and repaint from bare metal.
Following painting in the original mimosa yellow and the application of underseal and stoneguard the rebuild has begun. All good and serviceable parts have been shot blasted and painted or appropriately coated. Other parts were vapour blasted where a bare aluminium finish was required.
All bearings, seals, joints, fixings, pipework and hydraulics are being renewed.
The engine has been totally stripped, inspected, blast cleaned and painted to original spec.
The bores and crank shaft are in perfect condition and have not been rebored or ground.
The car is currently being completely rebuilt to show/concours standard.
On completion of the rebuild the car will be offered for sale. Interested parties should contact Classic & Custom Automotive - 01934 824825
